What the photographs on this site do not show
The photographs here are of this room and this food, in the light this room actually has. They are still photographs, taken at the moment the plate was best, and they are not a promise about the plate you will be handed forty minutes into a Saturday service.
A plate is photographed at its best moment
Every food photograph anywhere is the plate at about ninety seconds old, shot from the angle that flatters it, with the herb placed by hand. Ours are no different and it would be strange to pretend otherwise. What you get on a Saturday at half past eight is the same dish cooked by the same people, carried across a room, and it will look like food rather than like a photograph of food.
The room looks emptier here than it will feel
Because a photograph of a full restaurant is a photograph of the backs of strangers. The dining room pictures on this site are of the room, its light and its materials. At eight on a Friday it is loud, warm and full, and that is much better than the pictures make it look.
There are no diners in any photograph, deliberately
A restaurant website full of smiling strangers at tables is selling you somebody else's evening, and the people in those pictures did not choose to be marketing. You will see the room, the food, the bar, the light and occasionally a pair of hands at work — a hand carving, plating, pouring — because a hand says “somebody is cooking this to order” without inventing a person.
The five portraits on the team page are the exception, and they are the one place a person is the subject rather than the decoration.
One more thing, since this is that kind of page. This is a demonstration website for a restaurant that does not exist, so every photograph on it was generated rather than taken. Nothing here is a photograph of a real room, a real plate or a real person. On a real build for a real restaurant these would be that restaurant's own photographs, and everything else on this page would still be true.

Book a table
Pick a date, tell us how many of you there are, and the form shows the times we can actually seat that many — not every time we are open. Parties of eight and under book instantly; nine or more becomes a private dining enquiry, because a group that size needs a room and a set menu rather than a table. The twelve bar seats are never reservable, so there is always somewhere to eat here without a booking.
