A few times a month
Three things we run beyond ordinary service, none of them large and none of them often. They exist because the kitchen gets bored, which is the honest reason and also the reason they are good.

Roughly every six weeks, Sunday at 6:00pm
$55 a head
Six glasses, a region or a grape, and somebody who imports it talking for about ten minutes between pours. Seated at the bar and the two banquettes.
Occasional Saturdays, 9:00am, twelve places
$90 a head
Two hours in the kitchen before service, cooking one thing properly — pasta, bread, or breaking down a whole fish — then eating it.
Dates go up here and go out to anybody on the email list about three weeks ahead. They are small — the supper club is one table of sixteen, the kitchen mornings take twelve — so they do fill, and we would rather tell you that than pretend there is always room.
Places are booked by telephone or by email rather than through the reservation form, because a fixed menu at a fixed price on a fixed date is not the same object as a table and the form would have to lie about one of them.
One bottle per two guests, $35. One bottle per two guests, $35 a bottle, waived on the Tuesday supper. Two conditions worth knowing before you carry something across Queens: it must not be a wine already on our list, and it must be a 750ml still or sparkling wine rather than a spirit. If you are bringing something you care about, tell us when you book and we will have the right glasses out and decant it if it needs it — that part is free and it is the part that actually matters.
