Getting in

• The entrance from 61st Street is step-free, with a level threshold and a door wide enough for a wheelchair.
• The dining room, the bar and the private room are all on the ground floor, on one level, with no internal steps between them.
• There is an accessible washroom on the ground floor.
• The pavement seating is down two steps and is the one part of the building that is not step-free. It runs from May to October. Tell us when you book and we will keep you inside.

Inside the room

The gaps between tables are wider along the banquette wall than in the middle of the room, and the corner tables have the most space around them. Say when you book that you need a wheelchair space and we will put you there — it is a real allocation the host makes, not a note that gets lost.

The room is moderately loud at eight o'clock on a Friday and quiet at six on a Tuesday. If you lip-read or use a hearing aid, an early table at the far end from the bar is a much better evening, and asking for it is normal.

The menus

Every menu on this website is real text rather than a photograph of a printed page, so a screen reader can read it, a browser can enlarge it and you can search it. That is the main reason the menus here are not PDFs. Large-print paper menus are in the restaurant — ask whoever meets you at the door.

Guide and assistance dogs

Welcome anywhere in the building, including the private room. No notice needed, though a word when you book means we will seat you somewhere with room.

This website

Built to WCAG 2.2 AA as a target: real headings in order, a skip link, visible focus outlines, text that reflows to 400% zoom, colour contrast checked by an automated audit on every build rather than by eye, and no colour used as the only way of conveying anything. The booking form works by keyboard end to end and every field has a real label.

Anything on this site that does not work for you is a fault worth telling us about. Message us through the contact page and it gets fixed.

One honest limitation. The reservation form needs JavaScript, because checking real table availability is not something a static page can do. With scripts off it shows a telephone number and a link to the contact form rather than a broken interface, and somebody will book the table for you.
